How to Connect Google Merchant Center to Gemini

$500M+ managed. Google Premier Partner (top 3%). 500+ MCP tools

Connect Google Merchant Center to Gemini by adding PaidSync's remote endpoint, https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp, to Gemini CLI, Code Assist or Gemini Enterprise and signing in with OAuth. Gemini can then read product status, feed errors and disapprovals. Feed and product writes wait for your approval.

One thing to know first. The consumer Gemini app does not accept custom MCP servers today, so this guide uses Google's developer and enterprise surfaces. If your team already works in Gemini CLI, Code Assist or Gemini Enterprise, your catalog health lands in the same place, and you can cross-reference it with Google Ads without switching tools.

What You Need Before You Start

What Gemini Can Do With Your Merchant Center Account

Product status summary

Ask Gemini for a breakdown of your catalog: how many products are approved, pending, disapproved, and excluded from serving. Gemini pulls this through PaidSync and returns the counts with a summary of the most common issues.

Feed error audit

Ask Gemini to list all active feed errors and warnings. Gemini identifies the most common error types affecting your catalog, groups them by severity, and explains what each error means in plain language so non-technical team members can act on them.

Disapproval analysis

Ask Gemini which disapproval reasons are affecting the most products and what is needed to resolve each one. For high-volume disapprovals like price mismatch or missing required attributes, Gemini can explain the fix and the process for resubmitting products.

Product data queries

Ask about specific products by ID, title, or category. Check whether a specific product is approved for shopping ads or find all products in a category below a target price. Gemini queries your live Merchant Center data through PaidSync.

Product and feed writes, held for approval

PaidSync ships 16 Merchant Center tools. Nine read, five write. The writes are product and feed operations, such as inserting or removing a product, creating a supplemental feed, or linking an account. They are never campaign operations. Every write is held for your approval before it runs, a dry run previews it, and removing a product needs an explicit confirm_destructive flag.

Cross-reference with Google Ads Shopping

With Google Ads also connected through PaidSync, Gemini can cross-reference your Merchant Center catalog with your Shopping campaign performance. Ask which disapproved products are currently targeting active Shopping campaigns, or which approved products with high Shopping impressions have the most feed attribute issues.

How to Connect Merchant Center to Gemini in 5 Steps

1

Create a PaidSync account

Go to paidsync.ai/signup. Free plan, no credit card. 15 tasks per month.

2

Connect your Merchant Center account

In the PaidSync dashboard, click Connect Merchant Center and authorize with the Google account that owns your Merchant Center via OAuth. Your Google password is never stored, and the access tokens PaidSync holds are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.

3

Add PaidSync to Gemini

The consumer Gemini app does not accept custom MCP servers today. PaidSync connects to Google's developer and enterprise surfaces instead.

Gemini CLI. Run the command, then type /mcp auth paidsync and sign in with your PaidSync login:

gemini mcp add --transport http paidsync https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp

Gemini Code Assist and Antigravity read the same settings file. Add this to ~/.gemini/settings.json:

{ "mcpServers": { "paidsync": { "httpUrl": "https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp" } } }

Gemini Enterprise, Business edition. A team admin adds PaidSync under Settings and help, then Manage team, then Connected apps, then Add MCP Server. PaidSync serves the Streamable HTTP transport Gemini requires and OAuth 2.0 at https://api.paidsync.ai/authorize and https://api.paidsync.ai/token. Email support@paidsync.ai for the client credentials that form asks for.

4

Sign in with your PaidSync login

In Gemini CLI, type /mcp auth paidsync and sign in with your PaidSync login. This is OAuth 2.0. An API key also works for read-only use as https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp?api_key=ps_your_key_here, but applying a change requires the OAuth sign-in. The PaidSync docs cover both paths.

5

Test the connection

Ask Gemini: "How many products in my Merchant Center are disapproved?" If product counts and reasons appear, the connection is live.

Example Gemini Prompts for Merchant Center

"Give me a product status summary for my Merchant Center account"
Gemini returns the count of approved, disapproved, pending, and excluded products and surfaces the top issues by volume.
"List all products disapproved for price mismatch and explain how to fix them"
Gemini identifies the affected products and explains the price mismatch resolution process, combining your live Merchant Center data with Google's Shopping policies.
"Which active feed errors are affecting more than 50 products?"
Gemini filters feed issues by volume and returns only the errors impacting 50 or more products, so you prioritize fixes by impact.
"Which disapproved products are also in my current Google Ads Shopping campaigns?"
With both connections active, Gemini cross-references product IDs across Merchant Center and Google Ads to find the intersection of disapproved status and active campaign targeting.

Merchant Center and Gemini, Both Google Products

Merchant Center is a Google product and Gemini is Google's AI. Google's own Merchant API MCP Access Service (merchantapi.googleapis.com/mcp, alpha, listed under May 2026) has 14 tools, read-mostly with limited writes. PaidSync adds the approval gate on every write and puts Merchant Center next to Google Ads, GA4, GTM and 10 more platforms behind one endpoint, so a cross-reference between disapproved products and live Shopping campaigns is one prompt.

PaidSync also connects Merchant Center to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot Studio, and Perplexity. Connect once, use any AI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Gemini apps can connect to Merchant Center through PaidSync?

Gemini CLI, Gemini Code Assist, Antigravity and Gemini Enterprise (Business edition) accept custom MCP servers, so all of them can add https://mcp.paidsync.ai/mcp. The consumer Gemini app does not accept custom MCP servers today. PaidSync itself starts at $0 with 15 tasks per month on the free plan, no credit card required.

Is PaidSync free for Merchant Center and Gemini?

Yes. PaidSync offers a free plan with 15 tasks per month at $0, no credit card required. Paid plans start at $99/month for Pro (600 tasks) and Team starts at $249/month.

What can Gemini do with my Merchant Center account?

Check product approval status, list disapproved products and their reasons, review feed errors and warnings, query products by category or attribute, and cross-reference with Google Ads Shopping performance. Writes are product and feed operations, such as inserting a product or creating a supplemental feed, never campaigns, and each one waits for your approval.

Why use Gemini for Merchant Center rather than the Merchant Center interface?

Gemini is a natural fit if you use Google Workspace. You can ask about your product catalog health in plain English, inside Gemini, without navigating to Merchant Center and building diagnostic reports.

Can Gemini cross-reference Merchant Center with Google Ads?

Yes. Connect both to PaidSync and Gemini can cross-reference them in one conversation. Ask which disapproved products are in active Shopping campaigns or which approved products have the highest impressions but feed warnings.

Does PaidSync also connect Merchant Center to Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. The same PaidSync account works with Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot Studio and Cursor. Connect Merchant Center once and use whichever AI you prefer.
